Nordstrom Sale 'Look Book' Styling Inspiration

 Hello friends! I wanted to create a few look books for style inspiration on the Nordstrom Sale fashion pieces. All these items are linked up over on my LTK and Instagram page as well. As a create more 'Look Books' from the shopping event, I'll add them to the post.

Outfit look book #1 is a mix of materials from faux leather, chunky knit fabric sweater, silk hair ties, and this beautiful woven fabric bag. Tap here to shop this entire look

Outfit #2 was more inspired by the colors in this lovely midi-skirt. The rich pumpkin orange of this seater compliments the skirt and I personally adore midi-skirts with boots. Add some gold jewelry to shine up this perfect work-to-date night look. Tap here to shop this entire look

Look #3 is the main character. It's such a bold autumn blue tone dress with lovely pattern design. I love the idea of having this with a rich brown color boots. Add jewelry to complete the look! Tap here to shop the look!

Look #4 is old money meets Meredith Blake. I love this all creamy white outfit for a winter event or a night out. The coat is stunning and the price is *chefs kiss*. Tap to shop the look!

Look #5 is for my more casual girlies who want a nice stylish-chic outfit for drinks with the girls or visiting the winery in the cooler months. The dark tone jeans will pop with the cognac brown boots, purse, and hat. Tap to shop the look!

Look #6 I need someone to wear out at a pumpkin path or a trip to Vermont for me. I LOVE this made well blue dress and this plaid coat is a huge win. Accessorize with cognac tones (inspired by the autumn leaves) and the blue earrings would be a bold pop to bring out the blue color in the coat! Tap to shop the look!

Look #7 has the chocolate brown trench coat of my dreams. I also personally ordered the white sweater and white mules for myself. The handbag is a smaller bag which is super trendy at the moment and Longchamp is known for its durability. Tap here to shop the look!

Look #8 is another one of my favorites that someone must wear out in downtown one night! I love this dress pattern and I feel the trench coat would give this entire outfit that 'British Gal' vibe. I paired it with all tan accessories but if you want I think you can switch the bag out for the Longchamp bag in the previous look-book. Tap to shop the look!

Look #9 is a more modern take on the Millennial Girl ootd. The olive green jacket, Spanx faux leather leggings, and oversized chunky sweater. Also, don't sleep on Spanx leggings! They're so flattering on and can be styled countless ways! Tap here to shop the look!

Look #10 is another staple for the Spanx faux leather legging look. Wear top and bottom both in the black tone and throw a trench overtop. It's so Parisian chic! The accessories tie in the coats button and belt buckle. Don't forget the oversized sunnies! Tap here to shop the look!

My Nordstrom Sale Purchases [So Far]

Hey guys! Here is my online purchases from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! To explain why its all online orders - Sadly I live about 4 hours (one way) from a Nordstrom location. To shop the event I have to make all my purchases via the online website. I love Nordstrom does free shipping and returns to help customers like me who live afar but love the brand - the fulfillment center is shipping items quicker than ever and in case of returns, they'll instantly do restocks too! 

Shoes: I always try to buy at least one pair of shoes during the Nordstrom Sale for the price. Getting new styles on deep discount is a win-win for me. 

This year the sneakers I wanted sold out (but I'm waiting for restocks!). I grabbed these Birkenstock Sandals because I’ve never owned a pair of Birks and really wanted to see how comfortable the shoes are. These brown loafers are from Dr Scholls and I KNOW - isn’t that a older person brand…? But they have comfort fit foam soles and I’m hoping these will be the ‘it’ shoe for dressing up while I’m in Japan! I also caved and grabbed a pair of the Steve Madden Mules cause in past years this style has been a top seller. I also grabbed a pair of Barefoot Dreams Socks - I’ve never owned a pair and would love to see what the hype is about! 

Dresses: Now the green tank dress from Moon River is actually not in the Anniversary Sale - I wanted to grab this up for my Japan trip and I hope the dress fits for my vision I have in mind. I also grabbed up this other Moon River dress in this lovely bronze-like gold color - I’m truly so excited to see how this fits. The mid-length leaf pattern dress is a bit of a wild card but I like the ‘idea’ of this dress for autumn winter with a trench coat. And lastly the chocolate color Nordstrom Dress is so lovely and I’m excited to see how it fits too with a pair of knee length boots.

Tops: Tops I went a little wild. The green Zella top I was so excited for but sadly it might be a return due to the sleeves. I’ll have to see in person if I like the fit. The Red sweater from Madewell is so pretty and comes in LOTS of colors. I wanted a red sweater for Christmas and this might be the one! 

The longline Top Shop cardigan I saw on an influencer and I will admit (she influenced me) so I hope it works out! Treasure and Bond is always a favorite of mine so I ordered 2 turtle necks (green and off white). This other Longline Cardigan from Open Edit I saw last minute and felt “why not”. If the longline TopShop is a fail this one is under $50 and is very pretty too. Free People always sells out quickly in sweaters but shockingly I was able to grab up a chunky mustard/pumpkin color tone. Its very ‘Fall-like’ and I’m crossing my fingers its a keeper. Another adorable Madewell sweater cardigan and I’m thinking this will be cute paired with some tailored pants and has that 'style' of sweater I was wanting for some of my midi-skirts. Lastly a chocolate brown Top Shop half zip sweater. I wanted this in another color way but it sold out and I’m thinking the brown tone might workout for me. 

For now, this is all I plan to order. Once all my items arrive I’ll showcase them all on LTK Page and Instagram Page for Public Access shoppers. Depending on the amount of free time I have in NC I might go in person to a Nordstrom to check for the sneakers I wanted and to see if there’s anything different that wasn’t in stock online.

Beauty:
This part of the sale is my go-to for restocking my vanity and grabbing early holiday gift ideas. My favs is Clarins Skincare and Elemis’s Jumbo sized cleansing balm (or the jumbo resurfacing cleanser) and you can never go wrong with the Fresh Beauty Cleanser Set for a holiday gift idea! One of my favorite Anniversary sale picks from last year was the Donna Karen Deodorant set. Its a 3 piece kit (a year supply) or you can break the pack apart and have 3 holiday gifts for stocking stuffers! With beauty there’s LOTS of Charlotte Tilbury this year - the PillowTalk Lipkit is amazing and the YSL Mascara I’m actually wearing right now as I type this blog post! 

Shoes
The shoes each year has me so excited for my Japan trip. I’m planning to grab these New Balance Sneakers  and start breaking them in for my abroad trip. I’m also loving they brought back the Steve Madden Mules and the Open Edit Mules - such a staple and must have in the wardrobe. I also dig these Knee High Boots and this pair of boots as well if you prefer a more western style.

Clothes

The clothing department this year I was able to narrow my choices down to a select few. I love the Free People Zip Sweater and this lovely Plaid Dress  I think would be stunning for autumn. I’m also loving this Plaid Coat and would so pair it with this Madewell Dress for a great ‘family pumpkin patch’ portrait session. I didn’t see any jeans I liked but I do love this Skirt! Some other sweaters/tops I like are this Cable-Knit Tunic, Polo Style Sweater Top and this Jacket. And honestly, Nsale is the best time to grab up a coat like this Lauren by Ralph Lauren one!

Accessories
If you want the best and most affordable gift idea grab these Nordstrom Earrings or this Nordstrom Necklace. The quality is hands down amazing and I own both these pieces! If you’re on the hunt for a good classic handbag I would go with this Coach one or this All Saints Tote. If you’re into the ‘autumn influencer’ look you need to grab this Hat! Out of all the sunglasses my favorites was this sage green tone sunglasses and this pair of Brown Tone Sunglasses. 

Nordstrom Sale 2023 - DETAILS!

Time to make that shopping list! The Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale kicks off on July 11- August 6. This is one of the most anticipated sales of the year for shoppers, who can score big savings on new arrivals and must-have essentials, grab up some of your back-to-school fashions & (my favorite reason to shop the sale) to get some early holiday gifts. In addition to clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories, the sale includes jewelry, beauty items, fragrances, home goods, and more.

- I need to quickly touch base about Early Access Dates to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Nordstrom Debit/Credit Card members shop the sale first before the general public. Opening a card isn't hard. You can do it online, over the phone or in-store. There's also other amazing perks with a Nordstrom Card. If you're considering a new card I highly recommend - its the ONLY Credit Card I use.

~ This year the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale will have over 100+ new brands joining! IVL Collective, BDG Urban Outfitters, Dyson, Club Monaco, and more!

FAQ SECTION:

FAQ: If you're not a card member but visit the store, find something you love, will they hold the item till Public Access?

NO. The items are first come. If you see something that's at an amazing price the sales associate will mention you can open a Nordstrom Card and if accepted on the spot (and it’s the tier status for you to shop) - you'll be able to purchase.  

FAQ: Do they do restock?

No one is for sure. Nordstrom doesn’t disclose if they restock but I have noticed throughout previous years items becoming back in stock. Last year as items were being returned, they were quickly restocked. The sizes in items they predict will be popular typically have larger quantities available and some items it will be a very limited size run. 

FAQ: Am I able to return these items to store?

Yes, In store purchases can be returned In-Store or at an NordstromRack. 

Online purchases & App purchases can be returned for FREE online OR In-store at a Nordstrom or NordstromRack location. 

Keep the receipt so you can get a full refund.

FAQ: I have a card, can I redeem my Nordstrom Notes and double points towards the purchase I make?

YES! This is one of the best parts about the sale! You can use your Nordstrom Notes toward your purchases and access your Double Points Day when purchasing during the sale (so collect extra points for faster Notes!) I'm a few points away from another Nordstrom Note and Level upgrade so I'm definitely taking part in this opportunity too.

FAQ: Will you be attending any of the Special CardMember Events in store?

At the moment, no. The part of Florida I live at there’s no local Nordstrom location; I can only purchase online. The nearest store for me is 6 hours away. I will be shopping my Early Access tier status and have my 'top picks' posted asap! I also tend to shop again when the general public access too. 

IF I’m in North Carolina during the sale, I will visit The Streets at Southpoint Nordstrom to see if there’s any in-store previews. 

FAQ: What type of Sale Coverage will you be doing during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?

Since I’ll be unable to attend and shop via In-Store I’ll be creating custom Nordstrom digital content and showing the items I ordered too! I’ll also link the items to my LTK page. From time to time - I’ll repost the content to my social media platforms (IG, LTK, Lemon8, Facebook, and here on my Blog) with affiliate links that you can click and directly shop the entire Nordstrom website!

Here's where you can open a Nordstrom Card before the sale. Also Nordstrom is gifting FREE Nordstrom points to use during the event!

FAQ: How often will you be checking the Nordstrom Sale? And how is the best way to have up-to-date information on the sale?

I will be checking the sale and updating daily (morning, afternoon, and a late night check in).

More Pro Tips (From someone who's been shopping the sale & creating sale coverage since 2017):

1. Create a Wish List. I normally create mine in the Notes section of my phone and laptop so when I’m looking at the Nordstrom Sale Preview I can highlight what brands and items I like. This also helps me budget for the event. Below is an example of what my Wish List is for this year. 

Wish List:

- Veja sneakers or a pair of New Balance sneakers.

- Autumn Floral Dresses.

- High Waisted Pants (Leith or Madewell brand).

- Longchamp or Tory Burch handbag.

- Beauty brands: Charlotte Tilbury, Elemis, Tatcha, La Mer and beauty holiday gifting ideas for family.

- Hair styling tool (Dyson).

- Kids coat for Holly.

2. If near a Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack, see what sizing you are in the brands. I typically try on a few brands in pants, dresses, jackets, and the shoes (Vince Camuto, Steve Madden, Sam Edelman, Adidas, Nike, and Tory Burch). I jot all the sizes down in my phone or a notebook so I’ll know what to grab up during the shopping event! I personally feel Nordstroms sizing chart is spot on but it's still a good option to try things on beforehand as well. Also, since I'm 6 hours away from a Nordstrom and I do all my purchases online, I typically shop brands I'm accustomed to or will order the size I think I will fit and one other size just in case. 

3. Don’t forget to set up and stick to a budget on how much you wish to spend. The biggest takeaway is this is just “stuff” and no one should be maxing out credit cards for trend fashion pieces. I simply cover the Anniversary sale because I love amazing deals, beautiful fashion, and I simply enjoy doing what I do. 

4. Many take this opportunity to stock up on Holiday gifts. It’s such a perfect time to grab up gifts if you’re already shopping for the holiday or have a budget in mind on gifting. For me, I always grab up extra beauty items and simple stocking stuffer type items to stock pile for last minute gifts.
