My Picks in the Nordstrom Sale 2021

Hello Darlings!

It's that time of year when everyone is preparing to shop for the best Autumn/Winter deals at a fraction of the price - The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. My previous blog post talks all about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, when to shop, and what to expect from my Blog, Liketoknow.it page, Instagram and more. If you haven’t checked that post out hop over there - I even have a FAQ section!

Todays post is something a few people on my Instagram poll said they’d like to see - My Top Picks in the Nordstrom Sale. Below you’ll see My Anniversary Sale Picks in different categories. Also don’t forget to follow along on the Instagram + Liketoknowit page to see restock alerts, more detailed posts on categories, and more! I have LOTS of surprises in this sale and I’m excited to show you all!

** Clicking the product links below will redirect you to the exact Nordstrom Sale product. When you shop the product link I’ll make a small commission at NO additional cost to you! This is like the commission a sales associate would make in any of the retailers you shop at. Shopping via the affiliate links is how I can grow my blog and create my dream career. If you have any questions on how the links work and how to shop them please DM me over on my Instagram or Facebook page!

Fashion Picks: The first must have is beautiful Autumn floral dresses like this one. It will style perfectly with some of my other Nsale picks too! Also cozy sweaters like this wool + cashmere one from Ridley is great paired with leggings. I’m also a large fan of Free People in the Nordstrom Sale because these tops are flattering for all body types and style well Top Style 1 and Top Style 2. My ‘every year’ fashion purchase is ALWAYS this Nordstrom Brand Moonlight Short Set - there’s lots of color options and different styles from shorts to pants sets. Coats is a huge win in the sale and this plaid coat and this belted trench style coat are both great for a preppy and dark academia style. Lastly, if you can grab a pair of Spanx Faux Leather Leggings in the Nsale its always priced great and styles perfectly all Autumn Winter.

Fitness Picks: This year I wanted to showcase my Fitness picks. IVL Collective fitness is new to the Nordy Sale and this sports bra is under $45 and matching foil leggings is definitely going to sell out. There’s also affordable pieces like this under $15 sports bra and Free People Bike Shorts which comes in lots of color options! Zella Socks is always great to stock up on. I also saw this fitness kit (option 1 and option 2) which is great to give as a holiday gift and a must for any at home gym. You can never go wrong with some of the cozy sweatshirts to wear on cool morning runs (this cozy essentials sweatshirt also comes in other colors!). And the yoga mat is in my favorite pattern with more colors to pick from.

Shoes always sell out so so quickly but last year A LOT of shoes came back in stock. These all come in lots of color options and many of these I have in last years style (1, 4, 5, 7 - I have these from last year and all fit TTS). The best part about Nordstrom is Free returns - even online!

My accessories picks are BIG this year. There’s so many great options and luckily many of the styles are similar to last years styles - so if you missed out in 2020, you have a second chance to get those items! I have purchased item #6 in last years sale and it hasn’t faded or tarnished any, definitely a great holiday gift to grab up for a loved one. And item #10 I prefer the high key mini size (there’s 2 lens sizes in the sale this year!).

Baby Picks are always fun to do. I’ll also post over on my LiketoKnowit page boy and girl fashions and baby fashions + outfit ideas from the entire kids clothing sale (so hop over to my LTK page!).
Baby Picks: 1. dark green 1. light green2. boy coat2. girl coat 3. 4. 5. girl walking sneaker 5. boy walking sneaker6. succulent blanket6. geometric pattern blanket

Beauty in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is always a great time to grab up early holiday gifts. Many of these are in custom gift sets that are already deeply discounted or in jumbo sizes that are cheaper than the regular size bottles! All the picks in Beauty I already own and use. I highly recommend all these items and will show these items over on my Instagram Stories during the sale in (it’ll be saved in the Nordstrom Highlight over on my IG Feed).

The Home Sale is an area many grab up gadgets to elevate and update their home. Also the cult classic Barefoot Dreams blankets which always sell out super fast. This year Dyson vacuum set is new to the sale and will be a smashing hit at its deeply discounted price. Also loving these indoor garden kits where you can grow herbs in your kitchen for a ‘outdoors - in’ type of feel (plus a great activity for the kids!).

What I loved in June!

Hi Darlings, I hope at the end of each month I can do these blog posts where I call out any major events or activities, some favorite products, product fails, and anything else I wanted to note for this past month. For Junes reflection, this was such a busy month! We had the master suite and Holly’s room completely repainted, drywall repair, and popcorn ceiling removed (I plan to do a full remodel before and after post on this soon!). We also had 1/3 of our backyard fencing replaced. We welcomed our newest addition Louis ( to see Louis visit my IG page!), family visiting Florida, and our short trip to North Carolina. I feel the biggest call out for this month is family and the value of home. We invested so much time connecting with our loved ones, welcoming our new little furball, and making sure one another is took care of. Our home was also such a big role this month and opened our eyes to all the possibilities the future has in store for us in Florida.

Products I really relied on for this month *To shop click the links or go to the shop widget below!:

When my family was visiting we used this beach wagon (or this one is a good option too!) to tote everything to the beach. I’m so impressed with this! Its so easy to fold up for easy storage and traveling. While the home improvements were going on I used our Google Home more than ever. I needed a way to have my ‘me’ time and Google Home was able to play calming spa music to keep me at ease (also was very handy outside on the patio too!).  Sadly, I got a little sunburnt this month and one night I decided to try my Caudalie Grape Water (Or this which is on their official website!) - WOW another win. This Grape Water soothes skin and hydrates skin 127%! I also love using this on my skin when I’m giving myself some selfceare time - it feels like a spa treatment! And while I was in NC I wore my Abercrombie Bike shorts to stay cool during the humid heat. These V-Waist bike shorts remind me of the Aerie ones but I must say, the A&F ones are so soft. I also bought the matching sports bra to wear the complete set! Speaking of Aerie, their swimsuits  has also been the go-to this month. I love that they have good full booty coverage and lots of different mix and match sets. Their 1 piece swimsuits are very figure flatter too! And lastly throughout this trip in NC Hollys tablet has been a must (along with the holder  or this tablet holder I use to move the tablet from car to car) I downloaded some free prime shows and it keeps her occupied on the long drives to Raleigh, Charlotte, or just to Nana’s house!

Final notes that made this month special:

My all time favorite YouTuber Tati Westbrook (click here to see Tati’s Youtube) made her return to Youtube. If you’re not sure who she is just hop over to her YouTube channel and you’ll fall in love with all the amazing videos she has on beauty, skincare, and lifestyle. She truly is one of the first beauty channels on youtube. For me, she’s such an inspiration, great role model, and her knowledge of beauty products I truly trust above anyone else. She left the internet for an entire year and she returned stronger than ever. I really admire her courage and strength. I think deep down the past few years she grew so much and 2019 was a breaking point of her juggling so much from posting daily videos, her family, her other dreams and careers. Her ‘break’ from the internet was such a powerful yet inspiring move. She showed me that its 100% okay to step away from the internet - that life exists outside these cellphones and laptop keyboards. She also showed me that if you’re passionate and authentic, you can leave something to grow and repair - then return. It’s okay to work on yourself. And I think she’s inspired others to find passions and take breaks when things get too much.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this little recap for the month of June. I'll try to continue doing these posts in the future especially because I feel this would be a fantastic way to highlight special products, big events, and things that I found important.

Wild Meadows Haul! And Other Spring H&M Arrivals!

Good morning darlings, If you seen the most recent blog post about the H&M Wild Meadows Collection I have fantastic news - This post is all about the collection and the pieces I purchased to try!

I personally ordered 4 pieces from the collection because sadly the website only released a few pieces at a time. The goal is to decide which of these pieces I’ll keep and then order the others within my spending budget. I also ordered some basic Spring Arrivals from H&M that I will include in this post too! Below I’ll state what size I got and if it fits true to size or anything call outs.

I will talk H&M Wild Meadow Pieces first.

At the end of this post you’ll find a shopping widget where you can shop ALL these pieces from todays try on! These are affiliate links.

Wild Meadows Flared Skirt in Yellow

When I first unpacked this skirt I thought the waistband was sewn incorrectly, but they had designed it to fold over (to make the skirt have the flare fit). This skirt is quite voluminous and would be darling to wear at an outdoor style party. There’s a matching tube top that I kind of wish I ordered.
Skirt fits TTS. I’m in XS.

Wild Meadows Smocked Detail Dress

When I first tried this dress on I didn’t like it. But I tried it on a second time and it’s starting to grow on me. My reason for not liking it at first is the sleeves looked too ‘heavy’ on my body frame. But once I pulled the sleeves up I started to like the dress. This dress is also one of those that your bra straps will show/peek on the sides because its a deep square neckline. I suggest a strapless bra. Dress fits TTS but I think I could’ve worn a S and it fit just fine. I’m in XS.

Wild Meadows Crinkled Long Dress

This crinkled dress was my #1 on my wishlist and sadly it’s my least favorite in the lot! The crinkled fabric to me looks wrinkled (I steamed it 3x to get most of the crinkle look out). But oddly this dress runs quite large. I’m in a XS and a XXS would’ve fit me better. It’s made (I assume) to be really relaxed and loose fitting but to me this dress would look more flattering fitted - If I keep this I plan to belt it.
Dress fits large - size down 1 size. I’m in XS.

Wild Meadows Off the Shoulder Dress

This is my “wildcard” dress. When I can afford to - I always try to order one wildcard to try out and see if I like….Shockingly…. This is my most favorite dress from the Wild Meadows Collection! It’s so so beautiful on. You can wear it off the shoulder but it looks nice pulled up over your shoulders (this way will make the sleeves more puffed). I’m just all around in love with this one. Its a 10/10 and will be in my wardrobe.
Dress fits TTS. I’m in a XS.

Spring Arrivals from H&M
White Canvas Slides

I purchased these because they were A) cheap B) looked like Chanel or Chloe C) a Spring must have D) perfect slip ons for around the house.
These shoes are amazing. I love the fit and the off white color is perfect for Spring Summer.

Shoes fit TTS. I’m in size 7.

Faux Fur indoor Slippers in Beige

I purchased these because I saw the reviews stated there was a good base. I’m currently wearing them as I type this. They fit great and they’re cheaper than the Nordstrom Brand slippers I was going to get.

Slippers fit TTS. I’m in a Size 8.

Knot Detailed Waist Belt

I love this because it looks like one that Chloe or another luxury designer would make. It comes in 2 color options and I went with the brown. The reviews said it ran small and to go up a size but personally I don’t think you need to go up a size.

Belt fits TTS. I’m in a size S and returning for a size XS.

Sage Green Linen Dress

This sage color dress also comes in tan, dusty pink, and a black color. I love it! Its very soft and easy to wear. There’s a full top to bottom button detailing and a tie waist. I feel like this dress you can wear it so many ways and dress it up or down. Its long sleeves but so light and airy its perfect for Spring/Summer but a great layering option for Autumn. I also styled this dress with the knot belt and it works great that way too!

Dress fits TTS. I’m in a size XS.

Balloon Sleeve dress in Lilac

This dress is also a perfect floral for Spring. Its very delicate, airy, and has a lot of details that make it perfect for date night but also you can tone it down with cognac color sandals for a more casual look. I purchased this as another floral option to compare to the Wild Meadows. The results is the Wild Meadows is all a linen fabric while this dress is a little bit lighter and more breezy. Definitely a perfect dress for the warmer weather! It will look great belted or just wear flowy. Heels or flats will make this dress perfect too!

Dess fits TTS. I’m in XS.

V-neck Dress in light purple floral

Another dress I wanted to try out and see how it compares to the Wild Meadows Collection. I will say this dress has softer fabric and a more airy feel to it. Last year they had this dress in plain colors and in tropical palm prints. This year its in beautiful Florals and a blue and white Ginger Jar print. I love this dress belted and would be perfect casual, as a beach cover up, or on a date to the winery.

Dress fits TTS. I’m in XS.

Jacquard-Weave Dress in Dark Green

This dress was sold out of all sizes and one night I noticed there was 5 in stock in the size S. WOW - this dress is definitely on the larger end. I would definitely recommend sizing down or going to your true size. I love the detailing of the fabric and was hoping to get it for End of Summer and Autumn/Winter. I think it would look amazing with some cognac knee high boots and a hat.

Dress runs big. Stick to TTS for more relaxed fit or size down 1 size for more fitted.

Overall, the H&M haul was fantastic. I haven’t shopped the brand in YEARS and I’m officially a fan of their clothing and accessories again. I love how their styles are clean, on trend to European styles/designers, and price wise VERY affordable.

The items I’m returning are: Jacquard Dress (too big), Knot Belt (too big), Canvas shoes (I ordered 2 pairs and returning the larger size), Smocked Wild Meadows Dress (My least favorite in the WM collection), and I’m still undecided on the V-neck dress and balloon sleeve dress (I like them but I need to limit my budget on Spring Summer dresses).

H&M Spring Wild Meadow Collection is a Garden Party Dream

H&M has been slowly releasing this beautiful spring collection that is such a breath of fresh air from the gloom that 2020 had for everyone. This ‘Wild Meadow’ collection has already been released throughout Europe and drops today in the US and Canada. Below you’ll see images of all the pieces available in the Wild Meadow Collection. It’s also in the traditional H&M size range. If you miss out on this collection they will have a ‘email for restocks’ option available but H&M has released statements that they can’t predict when or if there will be restocks of this Spring 2021 collection.

If you would like to shop the H&M website or the Wild Meadow collection you’ll find a shopping widget at the bottom of this post that will direct you to the H&M website.

From the collection which is your favorites? Do you plan to purchase any from the Wild Meadow collection?

Best, Britt

9 Ways to Wear a Faux Leather Skirt (With items you most likely already own!)

Hello darlings! One of my favorite things to do is create looks with affordable items and items I already own in my closet. Like most people I don’t have the income for a new wardrobe every season so I always try to invest in pieces that I can mix and match season after season. Today my challenge is taking a faux leather skirt and creating 9 looks with items I already own (and items you'll most likely have in your closet too!).

At the end of the post I’ll also have a swipe widget of all the items from my photos (most items are on clearance!) Shopping through the “shop this post” widget I’ll make a small commission at NO additional cost to you!

Look 1: Classic Scoop or V-neck Top

The most effortless way to make a faux leather skirt stylish is by getting a nice scoop or v-neck top and have it tucked into the skirt. I suggest finding a top with a higher quality fabric to help elevate the look. I also paired it with this fun hat all in neutral shades that compliment one another that'll make the ensemble very put together and perfect for day or night.

Look 2: Cardigan with a fun Bodysuit
Another easy way to style a faux leather skirt is with an item we ALL own! An open cardigan is the perfect way to make this skirt look very relaxed. I also love this black bodysuit for a tight fit but you could always do a simple tank top tucked in. This is how I would wear this skirt if I needed to run some errands.

Look 3: Tight Fitted Bodysuit or Tanktop

HELLLLLLLLOOOOO glam girl figure! This black bodysuit was made for this skirt. I love how this creates a fun color blocking ensemble and it even makes my skirt look more like a dress. I feel like this is the perfect outfit for a night out (and if its chilly out just put a jacket over it!).

Look 4: Open Plaid
This is how you take a faux leather skirt and make it super super relaxed and casual. I know these skirts can come across as a bold or edgy look but with an unbuttoned plaid shirt and a basic tee or tank underneath you have this relaxed ‘cool girl’ style. Make it even more casual with some white or black sneakers or edge it up with some funky ankle booties.

Look 5: Tucked in Plaid
Okay darlings, this is how you take a simple plaid and a beautiful skirt and have em’ meet in the middle. I think this is the most darling way to wear the faux leather skirt and look casual but still put together. For me, I could wear this during the day and out to do dinner with the family or run into a nicer retail store (like Louis Vuitton) and not feel out of place.

Look 6: Chunky Sweater
The chunkier the sweater - the more elegant the look will be! This my PERFECT way to wear those thick chunky sweaters and look beyond adorable. I love this one from Abercrombie and it really completes this look. To dress this up some nude color heels would be so chic or a pair of mules. Add a statement necklace or scarf for the finishing touch!

Look 7: Graphic Tee or Graphic Sweatshirt
I know we’re all not here to glam up this faux leather skirt but make it more casual and here’s a GREAT way to totally mellow this skirt to a perfect basic everyday look. A great concert graphic tee or cropped graphic sweatshirt would be fantastic. My sweatshirt is my ultimate go-to for my casual days and I love how it paired with this skirt.

Look 8: Mixed Textures And/Or Pattern Blouse
This is a sweet '2 for 1' look. You can go with both or just do one of the options. I first went for a mixed textured look: satin silk top with the faux leather skirt and soft suede boots. I also grabbed this satin silk top with some pattern (which also complimented the color of the skirt) but gave the entire look some more dimension. I think this is the perfect way to give your ensemble some edge and character.

Look 9: Dress it Up with a Coat
This is giving me MAJOR Audrey Hepburn vibes and I love it. Dress this faux leather skirt with a beautiful trench coat and you can take this look literally anywhere - from the grocery store, to the movies, or out on a romantic 5 star dinner date. I tried this skirt with a military coat, a long trench coat, and a navy blue peacoat and it ALL looked so fantastic. It's the perfect skirt to mix and match with any coat in my closet!

BONUS LOOK: Knee High Boots and Fun Accessories!
I couldn’t leave out the must have way to style this faux leather skirt - fun, trendy, edgy, and elegant accessories! With any of these looks you can style this skirt with accessories to be the final cherry on top! Below you’ll see my accessories of choice: my Vince Camuto knee high boots, my Ray Ban sunnies, a classic plaid scarf, and some jewelry.
